He had his back to her, I have to imagine his heart was racing as she approached. She tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned to see her contagious smile first, and then he saw her dress. “The dress!” He saw her beautiful bouquet, the veil and then it all swept over him, she wasn’t just his “Mary” today, she was a bride, “his bride.” They hugged tight, exchanged sweet sentiments, and never stopped smiling at one another. These shots from the first moments they saw each other on their wedding day are some of my favorites. Such raw emotion, and happiness immerse these shots!
Mary and C. (as Mary lovingly calls him from time to time) had their ceremony at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Madison. Followed by their reception at Maple Bluff Country Club. They chose to spend as much of their wedding day, or rather wedding weekend together as possible. We met at the Arboretum for them to first see one another and do their family and wedding party shots quite early, 9 am to be exact. This meant that Derrick and I were both able to cover their first part of their day, before Derrick had to jet off to his wedding. This also meant that Mary and Chirantan’s day wrapped early, rather then dinner they treated their guests to lunch and dancing at Maple Bluff. It truly seemed that the intimate group of friends and family they had gathered had a great time celebrating their union.
Congrats Mary and Chirantan, I wish you the very best in New York, and wherever else your adventures may take you together! -April
P/S I apologize that we have been neglecting the full blog previews. I have the best of intentions of getting caught up with these, and sharing more images from all the super fab weddings Derrick and I have shot in the last few months. Happy Friday!:) -A
