In what was in all likelihood our final senior session of the year, we got to put to the test our ‘we can find backdrops to shoot with anywhere’ philosophy in my home town of Vesper, WI. Tim is a Senior at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, the number one high school in the state for everything, always (I’m a little biased). He as an ambitious senior year full of AP classes and still manages to hold down a job after school. Tim made the shoot fun and challenging for us at the same time by incorporating some props that we’re not totally used to seeing in sessions. Besides his hats, Tim wanted us to work in an axe and his compound bow. Obviously we wanted to do this tastefully and not in a corny way. We think we found great ways to accommodate these requests, but you’ll have to let us know how you think it went. As far as our shoot anywhere test, we made use of a rusty barrel behind an old gas station, an alleyway behind the post office, a shed full of saw dust at a wood pallet making company, a steel shed, a great weed patch behind his house and of course a huge wood pile. We’re thrilled with how Tim’s session turned out and happy to share some of our favorites as well as a slide show of all of his proofs with you. We just want to wish Tim, who is also one of our favorite nephews, a great senior year and hope that he finds ample time to enjoy his last year of high school in between all of the other work. – Derrick & April
