Derrick and I walked up to Julie’s apartment, umbrella’s in hand, shielding our equipment. That is about 15 minutes after Derrick shot the rain drops hitting the puddles for Julie & Justin’s wedding film. (which I can not wait to see!) I do love rainy days, there is something so romantic about them, but on the elevator ride up to Julie’s I couldn’t help but wonder why I had bothered to curl my hair that morning as it was soon a frizzy mess! Back up location ideas were going through my head too, where would we shoot on a rainy Sunday afternoon? As soon as we were greeted by Julie and her posse of bridesmaids, the thoughts about the rain began to disapate. Of course no one wants it to rain on their wedding day, but bigger and better things were going on than the rain. Julie was marrying Justin! I adore Julie and Justin’s fun personalities, and loved all the little smiles exchanged between them during the ceremony. These guys make love look easy!:) Fortunately the rain made way for clear skies and allowed us to photograph Julie and Justin in downtown Madison prior to heading over to the Memorial Union for some more lakeside shots and then their reception. Loved all the pink and blue details, Tripp Commons looked amazing!
Congrats to Julie & Justin, so happy for you both! Thanks for letting us document your day! Can’t wait to share the rest of your photos and wedding film with you soon! -April & Derrick
